Achieving Justice Series - Joe Schiavoni

"Achieving Justice" is an interview series to educate individuals about Ohio's judicial system and the judges and candidates for judge who serve and wish to serve their state and community. This interview is conducted by Judge Jennifer Brunner, currently a judge of Ohio's Tenth District Court of Appeals. Judge Brunner is a candidate for the Ohio Supreme Court in 2020.

In her fifth interview of this series, she interviews former state senator and gubernatorial candidate, Joe Schiavoni, a candidate for Mahoning County Court Judge, located in Austintown, Ohio. Since 2005 Joe has been fighting for Mahoning County workers and families. Aside from being an attorney, he is a father, husband, and community leader. Joe's philosophy during his career has been to work hard to ensure everyone gets a fair shot. That's why Joe is running to be Mahoning County's next county court judge.  

We'll continue this series each week to help voters across Ohio learn about their judicial candidates. The ballot on November 3 will not have party affiliation next to judicial candidates' names, so if you care about that, educate yourself. Judge Brunner's race is one of only two statewide races in the November 2020 general election in Ohio, except for the office of President of the United States.
