Achieving Justice Series - Judge Myron Duhart
This "Achieving Justice" interview is conducted by Judge Jennifer Brunner, currently a judge of Ohio's Tenth District Court of Appeals. Judge Brunner is a candidate for the Ohio Supreme Court in 2020. In her seventh interview of this series, she interviews Lucas County Common Pleas Court Judge, Myron C. Duhart, a candidate for the Ohio Sixth District Court of Appeals, located in Toledo, Ohio.
Judge Myron C. Duhart is a native of Toledo, Ohio, and he and his wife are the proud parents of three children, some of whom are now in college. He served in the military and as a member of the JAG program, followed by many years of private law practice. In 2011 Judge Duhart was appointed by former Governor Ted Strickland to serve on the Lucas County Court of Common Pleas bench and was elected and reelected thereafter. Judge Duhart manages one of the few commercial dockets in the state, hearing cases dealing with business related disputes.
For many years Judge Duhart has been actively involved in his community--as a past board member of the Northwest Ohio Sickle Cell Anemia Foundation, Frederick Douglass Community Center and the Salvation Army. He presently serves on the University of Toledo Paralegal Studies Advisory Board, Old News Boys Ray T. Kest Scholarship Committee and Mercy Health System North Board of Directors.
Judge Brunner's race is one of only two statewide races in the November 2020 general election in Ohio, except for the office of President of the United States.
