Achieving Justice Series - Sheryl Munson

This "Achieving Justice" interview is conducted by Judge Jennifer Brunner, currently a judge of Ohio's Tenth District Court of Appeals. Judge Brunner is a candidate for the Ohio Supreme Court in 2020. In her sixth interview of this series, she interviews Franklin County public defender, Sheryl Munson a candidate for Franklin County Common Pleas Court, General Division, located in Columbus, Ohio.

Sheryl Munson is a graduate of The Ohio State University and The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. She has worked in the Franklin County Public Defender’s Office since 1994. Sheryl is a member of the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, Women Lawyers of Franklin County, Franklin County Democratic Lawyers Club, and the Franklin County Democratic Party. She has practiced mostly in Franklin County Common Pleas Court since 2000, and has successfully tried many different types of cases. Sheryl Munson grew up in Marion, Ohio before moving to Columbus over 30 years ago. She is the mother of two teenage daughters.

"Achieving Justice" is an interview series to educate individuals about Ohio's judicial system and the judges and candidates for judge who serve and wish to serve their state and community.  We'll continue this series each week to help voters across Ohio learn about their judicial candidates. The ballot on November 3 will not have party affiliation next to judicial candidates' names, so if you care about that, educate yourself. Judge Brunner's race is one of only two statewide races in the November 2020 general election in Ohio, except for the office of President of the United States.
